Hiring a saxophone player for private and social events seems more popular than ever. It may be more economical than having a full band, but I believe the main reason is that people like it — or a Jazz Quartet —  is because it is both elegant and entertaining background music, yet does not compete with the guests’ conversations. It is ideal for cocktail and dinner hours before the DJ or full band takes over for dancing.

Such was the case at a New York event space demonstrated in the video above. My wonderful and classy client requested music from Burt Bacharach, Junior Walker, Duke Ellington, and Frank Sinatra — perfect background music for elegant occasions.
